Frequently Asked Questions

Plain-language information about D&D properties, possible arrangements, agreements and payments. Every situation is considered individually, and applicable signed documents and law always control.

D&D Financial acquires property interests through tax-deed processes and other transactions. D&D does not contact former owners before D&D has obtained the deed. After that point, the appropriate next step depends on the property, occupancy, condition, applicable requirements and the people involved.

Why might D&D contact me?

D&D may contact someone after obtaining a deed or other property interest. The reason, timing and method depend on the specific property and circumstances.

What if the property is occupied?

D&D may consider an individualized arrangement that could allow a former owner to purchase the property back. No person, property, arrangement or particular terms are guaranteed to qualify. D&D decides case by case.

What if the property is vacant?

D&D may provide an opportunity for personal property to be removed, subject to the circumstances and applicable requirements. The timing and method may vary.

Can I remain in the property?

Possibly. Available options depend on the specific facts and whether D&D determines that an arrangement is workable. Contact D&D so the situation can be reviewed.

How are possible terms determined?

Any terms are considered individually and must be stated in a written agreement. General website descriptions are not offers, promises or guaranteed terms.

What type of agreement may be available?

When workable, D&D may offer a Contract for Deed or another written arrangement. D&D retains contractual protections, and the signed agreement controls the parties’ rights and obligations.

Can an agreement be paid early?

Only if the specific agreement permits early payoff. Review the signed agreement or contact D&D using the information provided with it.

What happens after successful completion?

Upon successful completion of an applicable agreement, D&D conveys its interest as provided by that agreement.

Where do I make payments?

Use the Payment Portal unless D&D has provided different written instructions for your account.
